(3 / 5) Spooky Pennsylvania – S.E. Schlosser
I picked up this book when I was downtown Philadelphia visiting the Franklin Institute. I love reading spooky tales this time of year and since I’m not originally from PA, this seemed like a perfect way to familiarize myself with some of the local folklore.
This book consists of 35+ short stories, all of which take place somewhere in PA. The stories felt like the kind of stories you would tell surrounding a campfire at night at the end of a crisp fall day. Some of the stories were better than others, but I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The stories were brief and I was able to read one each morning over breakfast (these would be fun to read aloud to your family, if you’re into that sort of thing!) and the stories set a spooky and mysterious mood at the start of each day.
If you’re into local folklore and/or spooky and mysterious happenings, this book is for you! I loved the short story format and this one will be staying on my shelf to be re-read again when I’m feeling in the creepy and gothic mood. Happy Autumn everyone!
Read on my friends!
